Dr. Gardner is Associate Dean and Associate Professor of Health Professions, Psychiatry, Surgery, and Education, Innovation, & Technology at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM). In these roles, she helps provide guidance to both trainees and faculty as it pertains to medical education research, faculty development, interprofessional education, simulation, and assessment. Dr. Gardner is also co-founder of SurgWise Consulting, a consulting group specializing in providing advice on selection and assessment to postgraduate training programs and organizations. Dr. Gardner is the author of over 100 peer-reviewed publications in leading health professions education journals, covering topics of simulation, educational interventions, faculty development, assessment, and other practices in learning and development. She received both a master’s degree and doctorate in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from the University of Akron in Akron, Ohio.
